This is a film based round an interview with Roger Hallam, one of the co-founders of Extinction Rebellion, a non-violent climate change activist group which has made such a large impact in the UK and around the world.
We see Roger, who was once a farmer, begin his activism while studying at King’s College in London. When he found out KC was heavily invested in fossil fuel companies, and not at all in renewable energies, he started a protest which eventually led to the reversal of that position.
The film also follows Sylvia Dell, an retired mother of four, who is also is the forefront of the movement, and has been arrested a number of times as part of her protests against the current system which favours profits over people.
We also see some of the protests in London, which were some of the biggest acts of mass civil disobedience in UK history, and from around the world, wherever the movement has taken root, as people fight back against corporations whose only motive is profit.
Note in October 2020: Roger is once again in prison for his activities, as the authorities try to stop his work.
