This is a documentary originally made for DW in Germany, and dubbed into English wherever necessary. It covers the Julian Assange/WikiLeaks story more or less from the beginning, but has to do so in 30 minutes, which is its weakness.
Still we do get interviews with Julian’s father John Shipton, WikiLeaks’ editor Kristinn Hrafnsson, Donald Bostrom and Aitor Martinez, who may all be counted as supporters and friends; and on the other side David Benjamin formerly with the US Govt., and David Morales, the head of the firm which bugged the Ecuadorian Embassy on behalf of the CIA.
We hear of WikiLeaks’ early successes and the effect it had on international relations, espeically for the US, which is of course a big enemy to have in the other corner, even when truth and right is on your side. And the story is brought more or less up to date as Assange and his lawyers are still resisting extradition to the US.
